Mentha, commonly mint, is an aromatic almost exclusively perennial herb. They will grow 4-48 in. tall and can spread. If left unmanaged, it will become invasive. There are tons of species and grow all year round. Mint thrives in cool moist spots with partial shade, although it can tolerate a wide array of growing conditions. They are fast growing and should be planted in containers. It is a good companion plant, repelling pesty insects and attracting beneficial ones.
