Asclepias incarnata, otherwise known as rose milkweed, swamp milkweed, or pink milkweed is a perennial flowering plant. This is native to the Northeast, Southeast, Pacific Northwest, and Southwest of the US. It can grow up to 4-5 in. tall and wide. The fragrant pink and white flowers start to bloom in the summer months. Rose milkweed requires full sun to thrive and soil with clay, loam, and high organic material. It’s well known for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies (Swallowtail & Monarch), but deer resistant. Since it is an herbaceous plant, it will die back to the ground every year.
