Helping to give away 2,000 tree seedlings. Keep Bartow Beautiful will supply Persimmon and Redbud trees for 2024. The redbud flowering species will provide spring blooms for pollinators, while the persimmon will provide sweet fall fruits. Both will help maintain our community’s urban tree canopy. Bartow’s Master Gardeners will be handing out these seedlings and dispensing planting advice. So come get a free tree and talk to an expert
Bartow County, GA is proud to be the home of the State Champion “White Oak” as designated by the Georgia Forestry Commission in September 2016. We encourage landowners to replace lost trees or plant more trees, in order
to help maintain our urban forest. Trees contribute to our urban aesthetic,
prevent “heat island” effect, act as natural filters for water, and
prevent soil erosion.

  • “If you plant a tree today on the west side of your home, in 5 years your energy bills should be 3% less. In 15 years, the savings will be nearly 12%.” – Dr. E. Greg McPherson, Center for Urban Forest Research
  • “Landscaping, especially with trees, can increase property values as much as 20 percent.” – Management Information Services/ICMA
  • “The planting of trees means improved water quality, resulting in less runoff and erosion. This allows more recharging of the ground water supply. Wooded areas help prevent the transport of sediment and chemicals into streams.” – USDA Forest Service
