Anise Hyssop

Agastache foeniculum, or anise hyssop, is a perennial plant coming from the mint family. It can reach 2-5 ft. tall and 1-3 ft. wide. They serve best as a perennial border and bloom late summer to early fall. They have a great extended bloom period, making them a good addition for cut flowers. The scent is similar to basil, even though it comes from the mint family. They do best in full sun planted 2 ft. apart, or else it will become lanky. It doesn’t need much attention once planted but can be pruned in early spring to encourage blooming. It is a very hardy plant and also deer resistant.
