Daylily

“Give me swift transportance to those fields, / Where I may wallow in the Lily beds / Proposed for the deserver.” Troilus, Troilus and Cressida, Act III, Sc. 2.

Hemerocallis, also known as Daylilies, are among the most popular North American garden plants. It is a perennial flowering plant growing from rhizomes. Despite the common name, it is in fact not a lily. The name comes from the Greek word’s “day” and “beautiful.” This genus is popular worldwide because of the showy flowers and its hardiness.
