Hibiscus syriacus, or rose of Sharon, is a shrub in the hibiscus family. It is native to eastern Asia and planted as an ornamental for its flowers. It can reach 10 ft. and comes in a variety of colors. This plant has a long summer flowering period and prefers full sun. Its large flowers attract hummingbirds and other flying insects.
