Coreopsis

Coreopsis palmata, or prairie coreopsis, is a native wildflower growing to 2.5′ tall. It works best as a border plant, being planted in full sun/part shade. It forms larger clumps over time and is drought tolerant. It flowers in early summer and has deeply lobed and shorter leaves than the other varieties.

Coreopsis lanceolata, or lanceleaf coreopsis, has similar growing and planting instructions as prairie coreopsis. The main difference is the appearance of the flowers and leaves. Lanceleaf has more ruffled edges on the flowers and the leaves are more clustered toward the bottom of the stem.
