This week will bring a big change in the weather with the movement of a strong cold front through the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. There won’t be a lot of rain with the front, but the air behind the front will be a lot colder and drier than we have been experiencing lately. By Wednesday morning we should see freezing temperatures across a lot of North Georgia, with temperatures in some NE mountain locations getting into the low 20’s. This will effectively end the growing season there for most crops. Thursday will have some additional scattered frost but it will not be as widespread. The longer-term models are showing another cold front coming through in the second week of November with the likelihood of another freeze then. Winter is coming!
