Spring is my favorite time of the year! Here are some helpful tips to freshen up your home and make the process less overwhelming. Focus on one task at a time. Instead of trying to do everything at once, complete one area and then move on the next.

  • Open your windows- this is a great time to air out your house and improve air quality. Especially with mild temperatures during this time.
  • Clean light fixtures and celling fans- can help reduce allergens in your home such as dust mites, pet dander and pollen.
  • Clean windows, blinds and wash curtains- use microfiber cloths to help trap dust on windows and blinds.
  • Replace Air Filters- helps lower energy bills and allergy management.
  • Wash comforter and pillows- make sure to flip and rotate the mattress as well.
  • Clean out and organize closets- this is a great time to sort items to donate, recycle, sell and keep. If you haven’t worn it in the last six months, it’s time to let it go.
  • Wipe down walls and base boards- with a microfiber mop.
  • Deep clean the kitchen- clean all appliances, clean and sanitize trash cans, and wipe down cabinets.
  • Deep clean the bathroom- wash shower curtain liners, clean the vent fan, and clean the faucet fixtures.
  • Deep clean carpets and rugs- vacuum the front and back of rugs.
  • Safety Check- replace batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Also, check fire extinguishers and replenish first aid kit for emergencies.
  • Finally tackle and organize those notorious junk drawers!

A little bit at a time can make a big difference. Happy Spring Cleaning!
