The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that drought expanded in North and South Carolina and Georgia but was reduced in other Southeastern states due to the pattern of rainfall this past week. Drought also expanded significantly in Puerto Rico, where over 60 percent of the island is now in moderate (D1) drought.
