The Georgia Junior National Livestock Show is February 20-23 and Appling County is well represented.

1,600 pigs and 800 contestants are in Perry, GA competing for top prizes.

Congratulation to Macy Hataway who placed 2nd in state in 5th grade Showmanship yesterday! Over 100 contestants were in the 5th grade category.

Katlin Williams was selected in the top in her senior showmanship category and made it to the finals.

The weight classes will be today and tomorrow. As results are in I will update the blog and post more pictures.

Tanner Folsom – 1st in class

Lilly Altman- 3rd in class

Katlin Williams – 3rd in class and 9th in class

Macy Hataway – 4th in class and 11th in class

I’ve watched this group show at multiple shows this year since January. The camaraderie and experience gained among the group is amazing. I couldn’t be more proud of these young people and their family and the hard work they’ve all put into showing their animals. The group will finish up at the County Hog show on Monday.
