Are you a 4-H staff member, volunteer, or youth development professional serving military youth? If you answered yes to one of the previous encourage you to read on to learn about a resource available.

Georgia 4-H and youth development organizations aim to develop young people’s interests. Our goal is that youth can experiment with a subject matter deeply, create projects that support further learning or new interests, provide opportunities for youth to share their work with others, and celebrate the big and small accomplishments along the way. 4-H installation clubs or local 4-H programs youth can explore topics like engineering, performing arts, food production, sailing, survival skills, raising rabbits, archery, conservation, history of basketball, and more! With so many unique areas of interest, I worked to create an event/4-H Club that allows youth to Explore, Create, Share, and Celebrate! My goal is to promote youth exploration and provide an opportunity to share with others, which might even lead them to attend the Georgia 4-H Project Achievement Competition.

The 4-H Explore, Create, Share, and Celebrate! program can be conducted as an 8-hour day camp, 5-Day Camp, afterschool club, or a special 2-hour program. In fact, I have created 6 different versions of this program. There are several workshop schedules to accommodate the various programmatic needs. I recommend the staff to strive for the 5-day camp plan or an afterschool club model as those program designs allow youth to explore their public speaking skills in-depth; however, a condensed version might just be enough of a SPARK to ignite the flame for more learning.
