The City of Emerson held a Great American Cleanup event in the fall of 2025 (Saturday October 11, 2025). The cleanup had two main locations: Waterside Estates (Oct. 25) and Downtown Emerson (with registration at Emerson City Hall). The cleanup began at 9:00 am and concluded at 12:00 pm. The waterside site had 7 volunteers, and the downtown group had 26 volunteers. A total of 33 volunteers for the fall cleanup date (volunteer hours 33 x 3= 99 total hours).
The waterside group collected 13 bags of litter, while the downtown group collected 62 bags. The weight from the downtown cleanup trash was 800 pounds. The weight from the waterside cleanup was 260 pounds, making it a combined total of 1,060 pounds.
