2026 Appling County Winter Production Meeting Schedule
There are still a few meetings left on this years winter production meeting schedule for Appling County. REMINDER! The Row Crop Weed Meeting and the Cotton Production Meeting will be held at Turners Pondhouse (302 Dixon Rd Surrency, GA 31563), each of theese meetings will also be held at 8:00 am and will be a joint meeting with Wayne County Extension. Appling County Young Farmers/UGA Extension Pre-Planting Meeting
Appling County Extension and Appling County Young Farmers are hosting a pre-planting meeting on Thursday, March 5th, at 11:00. We will meet at Scotty Turners field across from nutrien, where the Southeast District UGA Extension Water Duo will speak on pivot checklist and pivot uniformity tests. Bacon/Appling County Extensions Sprayer Demonstration Field Day
Bacon and Appling County Extensions are joining together to host a Sprayer Demonstration Field Day on March 12, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bacon Co. Blueberry Research & Demo Farm located at 163 Research Road Alma, GA 31510. Lunch to follow at the Bacon Co. Extension Office (203 S. Dixon Street, Alma, GA 31510). This is a FREE event to attend. Guest speaker is Luan Oliveira (UGA Ag Extension Specialist). Key focus areas are: Airblast Sprayer, Drone Sprayer, Hoop Sprayer in Blueberries. Pesticide Credits are offered: 3 hours commercial (cat 21), 2 hours private (cat 10).

UGA Alapaha Blueberry Field Day
Berrien County Extension is hosting a Blueberry Field Day that will be conducted on March 27th. The Field Day will begin at the UGA Alapaha Blueberry Research Farm, followed by lunch and educational sessions at the Berrien County Extension office. Please refer to the attachment for meeting details and scheduled presentations. Pesticide credits will be available for attendees.
