Sign-up for the Master Irrigator Program began this Monday and will continue until Friday, February 1. The goal of this program is to help producers adopt efficient irrigation scheduling through promotion of UGA Irrigation research results and adoption of new technologies. Responsibilities for each entry are listed below.
Project Guidelines:
Grower obligations:
- Purchase and utilize a soil moisture sensor capable of uploading data to the web/apps (sensor type must be within limits determined by guidance committee).
- Attend Pre and Post Season ½ day Trainings (potentially March/April and November/December).
UGA obligations:
- Implement Pre and Post Season Trainings
- The water team will work with County Agents to guide producers with irrigation decisions.
- Distribute $1,000.00 incentive payment for project completion.
