I have heard it said many different times that we need to educate the youth so that they will be good stewards in the future. I like to follow that as well. In so doing, I was looking at the latest version of the Municipal Sewer and Water magazine and there was a story on how the Santa Fe water utility is using the Enviroscape to educate the students about water conservation. If you do not know what an Enviroscape is, it is a table top model of a watershed that can be used for educating about nonpoint source pollution, water and wastewater, and costal issues to name a few.
I have a nonpoint source and a water and wastewater Enviroscape we use at many different events. I also know the UGA Extension Districts and a few Extension personnel around Georgia has a nonpoint source pollution Enviroscape. The image here is one of the water team members using the nonpoint source Enviroscape to educate this young person about nonpoint source pollution. The CAES Water Resources Team uses the Enviroscapes (nonpoint source pollution and water/wastewater) at the Athens Water Festival, at local events, at schools, at community events, the Sunbelt Expo, and other locations where educating the public is possible.

The enviroscapes are not just for kids. I have even used it with adults and at every age it is a good way to educate people on protecting and conserving water resources.
