Tattnall County Extension\4-H is hiring for a new Part-Time Program Assistant. The person in this role supports the delivery of Extension and 4-H educational programs across Tattnall County, working under the direction of the County Extension Coordinator, 4-H Agent, and 4-H Educator.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct meetings and deliver prepared curricula in assigned program areas (e.g., 4-H, youth development, agriculture, family wellness).
- Recruit and engage students/youth in Extension and 4-H programs.
- Prepare and submit accurate reports to Georgia Counts and state offices, including supplemental documentation for program evaluation.
- Assist in budgeting and managing program funds for equipment, supplies, travel, and other needs.
- Prepare various accounting forms and perform basic budget reconciliation.
- Maintain office hours to assist clients with access to Extension resources (publications, online content, diagnostic services).
- Keep office inventory of publications, supplies, and materials.
- Assist with personnel procedures and office operations.
- Participate in staff and district conferences, recording and submitting notes.
- Support youth programs by planning, organizing, and leading activities, in-school club meetings, and competitive event preparation.
- Assist with fundraising, event logistics, and transportation for youth participants.
- Help implement educational agricultural programs and coordinate with volunteers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and other relevant software.
- Experience in program planning, youth development, or related fields is desirable.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (must be comfortable driving large van and transporting 4-H youth).
- Ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and motor vehicle checks (required for all positions).
Work Environment
- Primary Office location is Tattnall County Extension Office, Reidsville, GA
- May require travel to events, overnight trips, and weekend/holiday work.
- Involves direct interaction with youth, families, and community members.
- Schedule for completing hours will be set by the 4-H Agent based on the needs of the program.
Benefits
- Part-time (40 hrs. per pay period, approximately 20 hrs. per week depending on schedule)
- Due to the position being part-time, no health or retirement benefits are available.
- Pay is $11\hour (before taxes).
- This is a county funded only position.
