The Tattnall County Extension Office is excited to introduce a new addition to our office — a free community bookshelf!
This effort is led by our Readers are Leaders Ambassador Team, who help lead numerous literacy efforts in schools throughout the year. Made up entirely of donated books, this small library is designed to encourage reading, learning, and sharing within our community. Visitors are invited to stop by, browse the shelves, and take a book home to enjoy at no cost. We believe books have value for everyone, from ages 1 to 100. Whether you enjoy fiction, cookbooks, gardening guides, children’s stories, inspirational reads, or educational materials, we hope this bookshelf helps you discover something new and meaningful.
Here’s how it works:
- Take a book to read and enjoy
- Return it and swap for another, or keep it for your personal library
- Donate gently used books for others to discover and enjoy
This bookshelf was created with one simple goal: to make reading more accessible and encourage a love of learning throughout our community. We know books have the power to inspire creativity, build knowledge, spark imagination, and bring people together. We hope this little bookshelf becomes a small but meaningful way to share those opportunities with others. The bookshelf is available during normal office hours at the Tattnall County Extension Office. The office is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – Noon and 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. We invite everyone to stop in, take a look, and maybe leave with your next favorite read!
Books available on this shelf are donated by members of the public. Materials are not reviewed, screened, or endorsed by the Tattnall County Extension Office, University of Georgia Extension, or Georgia 4-H. The presence of a book on this shelf does not imply agreement with or approval of its content, viewpoints, accuracy, or recommendations. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise and select materials appropriate for their children.
