What is a Teen Leader?
Tattnall County 4-H is now accepting applications for Teen Leaders for the 2026 4-H Summer Camp season! This is an exciting opportunity for responsible, energetic teens to gain leadership experience, make new friends, and help younger campers create unforgettable memories at camp. Teen Leaders play an important role in the camp experience by assisting counselors, encouraging campers, helping with activities, and serving as positive role models throughout the week. Whether you already have leadership experience or are just looking to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply!
Important Information
- A limited number of male and female Teen Leaders are needed
- Applicants may be in grades 9-12 for the 2025-2026 school year
- Previous 4-H Teen Leader experience is great, but not required
- Teen Leaders must attend a required training on June 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (This is not TL 2 and is required for all TL)
- Housing assignments are based on camp needs and may include staying with another county if space is limited in our county’s cabins OR if the other county is in need of leader assistance
- The Teen Leader fee is $150 and includes most meals, lodging, transportation, and a camp t-shirt
- Applications will be reviewed anonymously by a non-biased panel, so applicants should take time to thoughtfully complete their application

Teen Leader Fees
All selected Teen Leaders will be required to pay the $150 Teen Leader fee by June 15 to help cover a portion of camp expenses.
Serving as a Teen Leader is an incredible way to build confidence, develop leadership and communication skills, and make lasting memories while giving back to younger 4-H’ers. We encourage all interested high school students to apply!
