The Bartow County School recycling program started in 1999 with 4 pilot schools, with the contest component starting in 2005. Every year from August-May all schools have the opportunity to participate in the recycling contest. The purpose of this contest is to educate youth on what we can recycle and why we recycle in Bartow. The contest concludes the first week in May and checks are rewarded to the 1st place-3rd place elementary division & middle/high division. Many schools create a recycling team to go around weekly & collect recycle bins from classrooms. Items that can be recycled include: paper, newspaper, magazines, cardboard, tin, aluminum cans, and plastics labeled #1 & #2 (no glass)*Contact us if you need any blue recycling bins. * Bartow County Solid Waste picks up, manages, & processes your recycling.
