IIex glabra, also known as Inkberry Holly, is a compact evergreen shrub. In late spring to early summer it produces small green-white flowers, followed by blue-black berries in the fall. It is slow growing and can reach up to 5 ft. tall and wide. It does best in full sun to part shade and can tolerate more wet, boggy conditions. It enjoys more acidic soil and tends to do more poorly in neutral to alkaline.
