Zizia aurea, or common Golden Alexander, is a yellow blooming native that shows its color from April to July. It grows 3-5 in. tall in full sun/part sun. They’re important host plants for Black Swallowtail butterflies. It is easy to grow and tolerant of most soil types. This low-maintenance perennial will bloom year after year in colonies. It is the perfect plant for a pollinator garden and bringing a pop of color to your garden space.
