Agarista populifolia, commonly Florida Leucothoe, is an evergreen native shrub. This plant blooms in late spring with white, fragrant flowers. It can grow up to 12 ft. tall and 6 ft. wide, but should be maintained at 4-8 ft. The growing conditions include part sun to shade in acidic soil. Once the flowers are done blooming, the plant can be pruned back. It is a deer resistant plant, but should not be planted where pets are.
