NOAA released their seasonal forecast for the Atlantic tropical season today. As expected, it shows that a very active season is expected, with 17 to 25 named storms expected and 8-13 hurricanes likely. This matches the forecast by Colorado State issued a few weeks ago. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center issued their latest seasonal outlooks for this summer today. It shows that both temperature and precipitation are expected to be above normal for the June through August period. As a result, they are also predicting that the drought in Florida is likely to be removed later this year.
