The Farm Journal/AgWeb had an interesting story this week about the transition from La Nina and swing to El Nino and how weather conditions associated with each pattern affect planting and crop growth across the United States. As you might expect, the dry conditions we have had here in the Southeast could affect seed germination this spring, although it is still too early to say. Other parts of the US, including the Corn Belt, are also likely to be affected by the transition from La Nina to El Nino.
