Water is considered to be a renewable resource that we do not have to really worry about.  This is mainly due to the Water Cycle where water is always in motion.  However, as we have experienced droughts over the years and increased impervious surfaces, stormwater has increased and the storage of these water resources has decreased.

In an article from the Forester Newsletter, they discuss the use of reclaimed or recycled water from sources such as stormwater flow, treated municipal water sources and others.  This reclaimed water can be used for landscape irrigation and other non-potable sources.  Florida uses “Purple Pipe” to carry reclaimed water and other states are finding ways to use reclaimed water for many uses.  To read the complete article please click on Uses of Reclaimed Water.
