Cotton: Plant bug numbers are spotty. Remember that we want at least 80% first fruit retention going into bloom. Whiteflies are building. The rain that went through this week should have beat them back some but we still need to be vigilant in scouting for them. Nematode problems are starting to show. Water demand really ramps up when we reach bloom so be mindful of that. Check out https://site.extension.uga.edu/tiftcoag/2020/07/mid-season-cotton-water-requirements/ for more information on July water requirements.

The galling is bad on this one.

Nematodes
Cotton Fusarium

Peanuts: Peanuts are starting to lap. The rain has helped us with Lesser Cornstalk Borer, they like it hot and dry, but we need to keep scouting for them. Im starting to see more and more Tomato Spotted Wilt.

TSWV transmitted by thrips

Soybeans: Soybean rust has been found in kudzu now across the Coastal Plain. Because of this, I strongly advise all soybean producers in the to make a fungicide application at R3 early pod set growth stage.

I came across this and thought it was funny especially for those of you who like A Few Good Men.
