Paulding County 4-H is proud to recognize an outstanding group of 4-H’ers who recently competed in the Northwest District Forestry Judging Competition in Conyers, Georgia.

Ten Junior 4-H’ers spent the summer preparing for the competition, learning about one of Georgia’s most valuable natural resources—our forests. Forestry Judging is a competitive event that challenges 4-H’ers to identify trees, insects, and forest diseases. Participants also demonstrate skills in compass and pacing, as well as estimating sawtimber volume.
Through Forestry Judging, youth gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience while developing a greater appreciation for Georgia’s forests, their importance to our economy, and the role they play in our quality of life.
