The latest outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center shows that the moderate El Nino that is currently underway is having an impact on the predicted late fall climate patterns especially in precipitation. The temperature outlook is a compromise between cooler than normal conditions we would expect from El Nino and warmer than normal conditions expected due to the trend towards warmer temperatures due to global warming, so a lot of the region in the October-December time frame is showing equal chances of near, above, and below normal temperatures. Precipitation is expected to be wetter than normal everywhere in the region during October through December, especially in southern GA and AL and northern FL, a very typical El Nino pattern.
