After the excitement of Hurricane Idalia this past week, we can look forward to a much quieter week ahead. This weekend will be nearly perfect, with cooler temperatures and less humidity, before both start to rise again during the week. There is no rain at all expected for most of the region for the next five days before light showers occur late in the week. The wettest region is likely to be the western Florida Panhandle and southwestern Alabama. Rain chances increase in Week 2 and temperatures are expected to remain fairly warm. The tropics are active right now but there is nothing headed towards the Southeast so we can expect fairly quiet conditions for the next week or more.
