Today is the first day of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, and we are already active with Investigation 91 just off the east coast of the Yucutan Peninsula. There is a small chance this could become TS Alex in the next day or two before heading over to southern Florida for some wet weather. For those of you who live along one of the coasts in the Southeast, you might find these printable information sheets from NOAA helpful. Each sheet provides a variety of contact numbers for emergency management and state agencies as well as a list of links to get more information. They are broken down into different regions so that you have local information. I would encourage anyone who lives in one of the coastal counties or deals with inquiries from these areas to have a copy of the appropriate sheets for your area available in your office or home. You can access them here.
