While this is the main blog I write, I also contribute once a month to The Garden Professors blog, dedicated to the use of science in tackling problems in home gardens. Here is an interesting article written last year by one of our other contributors, John Porter, on the impact of high temperatures on the pollination and ripening of tomatoes and other fruiting vegetables. High temperatures and air pollution injuries are also discussed in the latest article on abiotic disorders by Jim Downer from earlier this month. Fortunately, this is not an issue we have experienced in the Southeast this year, but it certainly could in the future. If you are a gardener, I think you will be interested in all the material they have gathered at this site.
