With just a couple of weeks to go in the year, 2019 looks like it will be the warmest on record for some cities like Savannah, Key West, Macon, Wilmington and Atlanta, especially because they are already at record-setting levels with warmer than normal weather expected through the end of December. This map from the Southeast Regional Climate Center’s perspectives tool shows the year-to-date ranking for average temperature across the Southeast. You can create your own maps at https://sercc.com/perspectives. Precipitation is not likely to set any record highs or lows but was quite variable across the Southeast in 2019 in both space and time. You can see that in the map below from the High Plains Regional Climate Center (https://hprcc.unl.edu/maps.php?map=ACISClimateMaps).
