Today is the beginning of the Atlantic Tropical Season.  In June, most of our storms, if they form, are likely to come from the Gulf of Mexico or along the East Coast.  But we may actually get our first storm of the official season (remember, TS Arlene came and went very quickly in April) from the eastern Pacific, as a tropical depression there has a high likelihood of crossing over the narrow part of Mexico and entering the Gulf from the southwest.  TD 02E is not expected to be a big storm and may never reach named status but could bring rain to the Gulf states and Florida, which really needs it.  You can look for more information from https://www.spaghettimodels.com (my favorite site) or the National Hurricane Center at https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/.
