In Georgia, as we learned from the 2019 UPW training this year, applicators of Engenia, Fexapan, and Xtendimax, must maintain a 57’ omni-directional buffer for certain counties. Here are a few things to think about in regards to this issue:
1) The Endangered Species Act (ESA) was passed by Congress in 1973 to protect and recover imperiled species and the ecosystems upon which they depend. It is administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and the Commerce Department’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).
2) An “endangered” species is a species in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant portion of its range.
