On Tuesday, February 17 at 12:00 noon, Worth County Extension hosted the 2026 Corn & Soybean Production meeting for our growers. The program began with Mrs. Krista Knight, acting USDA FSA director, updating the growers on current Farm Service Agency (FSA) programs and dates.
UGA Grains Agronomist, Dr. Nick Shay, updated attendees on the latest corn production practices and varieties. The other UGA presenter was Mr. Wade Parker, SE District Agronomy Agent, who shared about soybean trials, varieties, and general production.
Following the UGA Crop Update, Mr. Browning Watts, Worth County Senior 4-H’er, presented information on “Tracking Feral Swine in Georgia” sharing about the signs of feral pigs, their tracks, crop damage, reporting them, and the trap rental program through the Middle South Georgia Conservation District.
