Its been another busy week here in Tift County. Here are a few updates.

Georgia Crop Update

Sorghum: Early planted grain sorghum here in Tift that avoided sugar cane aphids. Reminder grain sorghum being planted now behind some of our melon production has the potential for good yields but will need to keep sugar cane aphid control in mind.

Peanuts: April planted moving right along this week. Foliage feeder numbers have been seen at treatable levels. Make sure you identify caterpillars correctly and use right product for control.

Cotton: We’ve been monitoring some cotton for the blue disease this week. If yours starts to look like this give us a call. Producers are making some good decisions right now on use of PGR’s on their cotton crop. Aphids are crashing and now it’s time to turn our attention to stink bug monitoring and control.
