Deadlines are rapidly approaching for youth in 7th-8th grade who wish to participate in District Project Achievement! We are getting a bit of a late start due to Mrs. Rebekah being in COVID-19 quarantine for the last few weeks; however, there is still plenty of time for you to get your project completed. Below are a few helpful dates for you to know:

February 1st –Deadline to submit your portfolio, completed photo page, and signed parent forms to Tattnall County Extension Office.

March 31st — Deadline to have your final presentation (posters, slides, dance or cooking) recorded on video by the Extension staff.

May 31-June 2 — Save the Date for our in-person competition\celebration event at Rock Eagle 4-H Center (pending lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on groups of larger than 50)

In order to help you prepare for these deadlines, we are providing some important information below.

Jr\Sr DPA Registration

Your first step in the Junior-Senior Project Achievement (DPA) process is to register. There is a limit on the number of youth from each county who can participate in a project area. Prior to starting work on your project, please visit the EventBrite link below and register for your project area. (You can view a full list of project areas here) On EventBrite, you will purchase a FREE ticket for the project area and grade range that applies to you. If a ticket for the project you are interested in is missing, it means that project area is full.

Preparing Your Portfolio

The first year of creating your portfolio can be a bit confusing. For that reason, we have created a short video to provide more information on the different parts of your portfolio and how to prepare it for submission.

If you need additional assistance in completing your portfolio, please follow the directions below to sign up for an in-person workshop with the 4-H staff at the Extension Office, which is located by the Dollar Tree in Reidsville. In order to maximize your time with the staff, we ask that you watch the video above and complete as much of your portfolio as possible before attending an in-person workshop.

Jr\Sr DPA Sign-Up Links for Each Week

Each week, we will have a limited number of appointments available for youth to work on their Junior Project Achievement portfolios. Please understand that all UGA & Georgia 4-H guidelines on social distancing, mask wearing, cleaning\sanitizing, and food handling will be followed. Updated guidelines will be shared each week in the weekly workshop sign-up. You will need to pre-register using this form prior to visiting the Extension Office. New sign-ups will be added to this post each week.
