Community Garden Irrigation Essentials

Food Well AllianceUGA Extension DeKalb County, and the UGA Center for Urban Agriculture invite you to a community garden irrigation training at the E.M.B.A.R.C. Community Youth Farm! This workshop will cover:

  • The components of a drip irrigation system
  • Troubleshooting and proper maintenance
  • Practical knowledge on irrigation regulations and management

Attendees will get hands-on experience with demonstrations and learn best practices.

The cost for this workshop is $10 and covers refreshments and lunch (grilled at the garden – dietary preferences requested in the registration survey!) and materials for the workshop.

Join UGA Extension Fulton CountyAlpharetta Community Agriculture Program, and UGA Food Science & Technology for a one-day introductory course about good agricultural practices for farm food safety.

Small-scale fruit and vegetable growers will learn skills necessary to identify safety concerns and build knowledge on certifications and resources. Lunch is provided! Cost: $25.00

Join us at Maddox Park for Food Well Alliance’s 10th annual Soil Festival! We’ll have workshops, a farmers market, exhibitors, beer garden, food trucks, kid’s area and more!  UGA Extension representatives from Fulton and Clayton Counties, as well as master gardener volunteers, will be there to answer your plant and soil questions.

Led by CompostNOW staff, this workshop includes a hands-on compost and material use training at a Class II compost facility.  You’ll learn how nutrient rich food scrap compost is made and the benefits it can bring to your growing operation and tour the facility.
