  • Very little rain this week

    Pam Knox

    October 30, 2021

The latest 7-day QPF shows almost no rain for the next five days with just a little light rain late in the week. A weak front should come through then, bringing some light rain to the area. Early November should also be quite dry. The long-range models are not showing much chance of frost in…

The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that an area of moderate (D1) drought has been added to eastern North Carolina due to continuing dry conditions there. The abnormally dry areas in the region also expanded in Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia as well as expanding into northeastern Florida. Puerto Rico’s conditions…

Those of you who inhale weather like I do might be interested in this new weather channel that is coming online this month from Fox. I generally don’t watch television weather, since I get most of what I need from the web. But you might enjoy a different take on the weather than The Weather…

  • Moderate rainfall expected mid-week

    Pam Knox

    October 24, 2021

Due to computer maintenance I was not able to post yesterday. The 7-day QPF map for this week shows moderate rains of around an inch are expected to fall. Most of it will occur on Wednesday and Thursday, with lesser amounts Sunday through Tuesday and next weekend. Some areas are getting a little dry, so…
