It’s been quite warm in the Southeast for the last few days, but after one more hot day we are going to see a big cool-down in temperatures. We could see morning temperatures in the upper 30s down into Georgia and Alabama on Saturday morning. That means soil temperatures will also be cold for a few days before things warm up again, which could delay germination of recently planted seeds like peanuts. Generally, if you know it is going to cool off after you plant, you might want to hold off for a few days so that you can give your seeds every advantage for high yields.
