Last week NOAA released their latest monthly and seasonal climate outlooks covering September and the fall period of September through November. The maps show that for both September and the 3-month period, warmer than normal conditions are likely across the region. For precipitation, wetter than normal conditions are expected in the southern part of the region, probably because it is the location where more tropical storm activity is likely to occur in what is still expected to be an active season. The rainfall is expected to eliminate what little drought there is still present in the region, especially in southern Florida.
