NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center issued an updated outlook for March 2024 at the end of the month. It shows that for a lot of the Southeast a continuation of the wetter and warmer conditions is likely. We are already starting out with a very wet first week, with some areas expecting 5 inches or more, and the wet weather is expected to continue through the month, although there will be some breaks in the rain as systems move through. For the moment, the long-range weather forecasts are not showing any freezing weather for the Southeast except for mountainous areas through March 21, but we are still not out of the frost season so will continue to watch the forecasts carefully.
