Earlier this week NOAA came out with their revised forecast for the number of tropical storms and hurricanes expected in the Atlantic Ocean this season. Even though it has been relatively quiet, that is expected to change in the next couple of week and NOAA is still expecting an above average number of named storms. They did decrease the likelihood of an above-average season, but it is still leaning towards more activity than usual. NOAA also announced that they will begin a prototype YouTube live streaming event during tropical cyclone events. You can read more at pns22-47_youtube_nhc_prototype.pdf (weather.gov).
