The latest QPF map shows that rain in the western part of the region will see some pretty good rains this week. The rest of the region will see less than normal, which could affect the drought depiction on next week’s map. Most of the rain will fall in the next couple of days as a front moves through the area. After that it should be cool and dry until the next front approaches late in the week. Long-range forecasts are starting to indicate colder air may move into the region by around the 3rd to 4th weeks of January. That will thrill fruit farmers looking for more chill hours, but might not please those of you who have been enjoying the warmer weather.
