A strong cold front is expected to move through the region on Sunday, bringing cooler temperatures to most of the region and much drier conditions that will last most of the week. Some parts of the Piedmont in Virginia through eastern Georgia may see no rain at all for the week. The front will stall out across the Florida Peninsula and will bring a lot of rain to that area as far north as the northern Gulf Coast. Late in the week, some models have the front gradually edging north again, which could cause more rain for southern AL and GA over the Labor Day weekend if it verifies. Tropical activity should not be of concern for at least the next week.
