The temperature map shows quite a bit of variation in temperature across the region, with many areas above normal in temperature but a significant area with cooler than normal temperature. Rainfall is generally within 2 inches of normal except in central North Carolina where Tropical Storm Chantal dropped heavy rain across a band near the center of circulation.
