The latest 7-day QPF map for the Southeast shows that there will be very little rain in Alabama and Georgia this week until perhaps late in the week. There will be more rain in the Florida Peninsula and in Virginia and northern North Carolina. However, there is a lot of uncertainty with this because it depends on the path of another tropical storm which is expected to form in the Western Caribbean in the next few days and move towards the northern Gulf Coast (see related story). The drier weather will be a relief to those who are recovering from Hurricane Helene but the potential for another storm is very concerning. I will once again be posting updates on this blog as things develop.
