The latest 7-day QPF map shows that most of the Southeast can expect to get rain throughout the week, resulting in some areas with 5 or more inches. Florida and a few parts of western Virginia are the only exceptions with amounts closer to an inch. There is an active system in the Gulf now and areas in the southern part of the region are seeing rain from that. Midweek, the rain will be lighter, and then another system will move in late in the week to drop another big batch. The 8-14 day forecast from the Climate Prediction Center shows that we can expect more of the same in the following week, although we are not sure of the amounts yet.
