The latest 7-day QPF map shows that the heaviest rain for the next few days is likely to be along a front that is draped through Kentucky and Tennessee and east into North Carolina. Unfortunately, that means that those areas could see more floods as moisture continues to flow into the area. Most of the rest of the Southeast should experience scattered showers but most areas away from the front will get less than an inch, although the west coast of Florida could see higher amounts. So far this pattern looks like it will last for another week or so before a shift. The tropics are also quiet due to a large plume of Saharan dust stabilizing the atmosphere over the area most storms develop. Once the plume is gone and we enter the peak part of the season, we should see storms start to develop quickly.
